  • Shorting ETFs?

I am thinking of trying to balance my IRA with a shorting ETF very soon. However, I am not sure about Vanguard accepting them within my brokerage account. Yes, i know I can call them- -but I thought I would try here first. Thanks

  • Who is that person?

When a woman goes through menopause and begins the change- -which in many ways, because of the reduced estrogen, causes some serious physiological changes. These changes tend to bring forth some strong masculine traits as well as some serious tweaking to her core personality.

I know many are going to say that estrogen therapy will cure this issue- -but contrary to popular belief, nothing could be farther from the truth that there has been a core change to that person which effects who and what they are.

That said, when a couple gets to a stage where the person they married and knew for X years is no longer there- -do you stay for the memories or do you say and hope to adjust to this new person? Or is this just an aspect of our vows, “for better or worse”.

  • "Follow the money"?

It seems that every stock market crash has been caused by the "inflation" of certain sectors of the economy. In 1987 we had the S&L, in 2000 all the money ran to the internet bubbles, then in 2007 we had the housing markets. Now that there is no safe haven for money, we have seen a tremendous run within the insurance products. The sad thing is they are touted as safe, yet they only carry the guarantee of "Full FAITH and Credit", I am not so sure that faith has a place in investements. To compound things, the current administration has place a tremendouse burden on the insurance companies to belive the U.S. govenment will stand behind this stupid decision to socialize medicine; 17 Trillion with poor credit and counting.

The POP! is coming, and the domino effect will be devistating.

  • Being married twice, where would you be burried?

A good friend of mine posed a rather interesting question the other day. It seems he was, or is married twice, his first wife died after 22 years of marriage and they had 2 kids. His now second wife of 23 years of marriage having had 3 kids, was wondering what the burial situation would be when he dies, would he be buried with his 1st wife or second?

He says he loves them both equally. His religion prevents cremation.

  • Where is the REAL problem?

Preconditioning for violence. Graphic violent movies, realistic murder computer games to practice combined with a weak minded or unstable person…and you have a scenario for what happened in Connecticut. WHEN will we learn to treat the causes and not the symptoms? Parents are detached and not involved with their kids so people like this are allowed to foster within their family.

Responsibility..begins at home not looking around at things or others to blame. We have become a BLAME society…

  • The bill is coming due.?

How can we adopt this ObamaCare when we, as a nation are so in debt??? I fear we have become a dead beat society and they will surly break the back of the few workers that feeds/houses and soon cares for them.

The estimated population of the United States is 313,835,457

so each citizen's share of this debt is $51,676.31.

  • It's a sad time for morning television?

The wife and I used to almost religiously watch Regis and Kelly over breakfast, but not anymore. Kelly has gotten “ditzy” and the co-host needs to be at ringside. There used to be something we could relate to, but when Regis left, he took the heart of the show with him. Now it’s all about fulfilling an agenda.

    Oh well…

  • Is this a total waste of time?

Do most people who post here really want help or do they just want support for a decision they are making or about to make? I truly wonder what good I am doing- -I suppose it’s like dropping coins into the beggers cups..your hope is that 1 day you will find someone who truly needs help.

  • The New Adventures of Old Christine?

Quite possibly I’m the only one reading a subtle message about incestual overtones into the TV show "The New Adventures of Old Christine." I agree that there is nothing overt, yet, but I do feel the media is testing the water. I know that the media has seemed to have watered down many of the old traditional values and moral codes by creating circumstances which make the acts seem normal and somewhat OK, could this be another?

  • Who do we point our finger at now?

Preconditioning. It’s so sad that we, as a culture, cannot see that violence promotes violence. The movies, the games and even the tolerance for rude and abusive behavior has become the norm, so what can we expect from the weak minded few. Down the path we go, eager to blame the instruments of violence but not willing to see the root causes.

  • Who does socialism truly serve?

The institutionalizing of a NATIONAL dead beat society deepens.

Socialism is not what our founding fathers envisioned; it was to be a society of opportunity (ONLY), to succeed or to fail..no bailouts. Socialism only serves to create apathy and undeserved expectations. It failed in the Soviet Union, it’s failing in Britain and Canada, we are 14 trillion dollars in debt and now this health care crap is to be stacked on.

  • Is the toilet a water feature?

Shouldn’t the proper etiquette for a bathroom dictates that the TOP lid be down at all times and to cover the water?

This would also serve to eliminate any arguments about its configuration.

  • Is it time for a balanced budget amendment to the constitution?

For the past several administrations the U.S. government has been like a limo of drunks with yours and my credit cards going from bar to bar buying drinks for everyone. One big party that the few workers remaining will eventually have to pay for!

Maybe it’s time for a balanced budget amendment to the constitution, where they cannot spend that which they do not have. If the money is not in the current coffers and tax revenue stream, it simply cannot be brought up for vote.

14 trillion and counting HAS to be a wakeup call.
