Is the toilet a water feature?

Shouldn’t the proper etiquette for a bathroom dictates that the TOP lid be down at all times and to cover the water?

This would also serve to eliminate any arguments about its configuration.

Let me guess, you're a female living with males in the house.

I always taught my children to keep the lid down on the toilet bowl for two reasons:

It is more sanitary when flushing as what is being flushed gets to stay in the toilet and not be sprayed elsewhere in the bathroom.

And, secondly, this way, with the lid down, nothing can accidentally fall into the toilet.

This eliminates the argument about should the seat be left up or down. It is not a seat issue, it is a lid issue. Period.

You only put the lid down to hide a feature if the toilet is blocked. Like a floating turd or vomit or something!

There is no "STANDARD" position for the toilet lid........but, concerning a "water feature"....in all architechtural drawings, toilets are all labeled "WATER CLOSETS" !!!!!!!!!
