Is it time for a balanced budget amendment to the constitution?

For the past several administrations the U.S. government has been like a limo of drunks with yours and my credit cards going from bar to bar buying drinks for everyone. One big party that the few workers remaining will eventually have to pay for!

Maybe it’s time for a balanced budget amendment to the constitution, where they cannot spend that which they do not have. If the money is not in the current coffers and tax revenue stream, it simply cannot be brought up for vote.

14 trillion and counting HAS to be a wakeup call.

Yes, it is time for a BBA. Do you have a version you like? A URL-link to text?

The government borrows money to meet its expenditures. Big f*cking deal. Corporations do the same thing. Try proposing a "balanced budget amendment" to Ford Motors or some other huge company and see how far you get.

If we did that congress would have to actually work together on issue and really solve problems. Also the people(corporations) that elect them won't have total control anymore.
