My 8 year old daughter received a kobo for Christmas. initially we set it up on my account, not realizing there is no way to block that adult content books from her ereader.

So it appears the best thing to do is to set her up with her own account, where the focus is on children friendly books.

but I can't figure it out... any help is appreciated.

I've been reporting the spam, but its sooo many coming in every day. Any suggestions of what to do about this??? Is Yahoo actually working on this problem??

Here's a link to an article about a couple who adopted 2 children from Haiti, and already had a 1 year old at home when they brought the two adopted children home. (ages 5 & 1). Then proceeded to get pregnant with child #4......then gives up the eldest child because the mother couldn't handle him only a few months later.

I am shocked and dumbfounded how many people applaud this family for giving up the child. So my first question is....was it appropriate for the family to have some many small children at the same time, and how could they ever possibly meet their needs?

Also was it appropriate to just give up on a child after only a few months? What message does that ultimately send to the rest of the children?

Also a lot of comments seem to think that spanking an emotionally abused and traumatized child is the solution. What's your take on this??

About a month or so ago yahoo posted a short article with pictures from an amazing artist. I remember that they were greyscale, most likely pencil or charcoal. They looked like photos but the content was pure fiction. One was an elephant - I think on a tree or island, and one was a man as an angel with wreckage behind him.

I can't find the article, or name of the artist. any help you can offer is greatly appreciated.

In general, I am able to be strong when someone is dying, and also I do my best to go to their funeral to pay my respects to the deceased and to their family. I've always felt it was the right thing to do. The last bit of honour I can show them.

But the following situation has me really confused....

I have a cousin who just passed away yesterday. She was in her early 30s. She'd been diagnosed with cancer and was in palliative care but no one in her immediate circle bothered to tell me or my side of the family about it. We never got a chance to say goodbye. In fact one person told me a decision had been made to purposefully keep it from me. Which I happen to think is quite cruel.

We used to be really close. Our families took summer holidays together for years. We saw each other at least every other month all growing up. then a couple of years ago, there was a falling out the details obviously don't matter now. I tried to work through it but she refused to talk it out.

Now she passed and I don't know if I should go to the funeral or not. Her immediate family didn't say she was dying. they haven't told me she passed. they haven't passed on funeral arrangements (I found out online). And some of them are very very volatile angry people.

What should I do? go or not? have a private prayer service?

I'm lost on this one.....

I'm opening a new metaphysical shop near Toronto, and will be carrying some relaxation music / meditation cds. I have my own favourites, but I'd like to hear what your favourites are?

are there any that are a waste of money to you? (assuming you would actually buy a cd and not just download something)

I am so thrilled to be opening my own spiritual/metaphysical shop in the greater Toronto area this fall. I've been providing healing services, readings, paranormal investigations and house clearings for 17 years all over the place, so its going to be wonderful to have a home base of my own.

But here's my dilemna....

Previously on business cards, under title, I listed "Spiritual Advisor, and Reiki Master". That tells people what I did, plus I listed the services on the bottom of the card. Now I don't know what to list because I need people to know what I do, but also for business suppliers and other professional contacts, people also need to know that this is my place and I am in charge, I don't just work there, so how should I list that appropriately???

Also, I need new cards that include shop name and location information as well, so there's less space to put as much detail as I used to be able to do when it was just my phone number and email.

The other issue is, I don't have the money to purchase 2 completely different sets of business cards, I'd like this to be as efficient as possible with one set.

What do you think????
