Help! I'm being swamped with newly posted spam on questions that have been closed years ago.?

Yahoo doesn't seem to care. We've alerted them time and again that the spammers are using the old questions to post thousands of spam links, and they haven't done anything to stop them. Including not suspending the accounts posting it. If you don't want to get the email alerts, RIGHT click the email and select "filter emails like this", then select your filtering criteria and where you want the emails to end up. Then ignore them.

I think Yahoo actually like spam, as I have now got "sponsored Email" at the top of my Yahoo mail, and have you tried reading the Yahoo homepage with news articles? Half the "news" is actually spam advertising written - by Yahoo themselves in the same format and typeface as genuine articles !

More and more of the page is taken up with advertising space.

Another way to put an end to this would be to set your questions and answers to private. I wouldn't be surprised though, if people at Yahoo are behind this.

I thought I was the only one, but Yahoo seems more concerned with just changing formats for no reason than fixing ACTUAL problems

Why not just delete your account and start a new one.
