  • How to make cooking show skit interesting/funny?

I have to do a skit for my class as a chef on a cooking show. Regretfully, I chose to do this tedious recipe with many ingredients and steps. What can I do to make it more interesting, so that I'm not just listing the ingredients and reciting the steps monotonously?

  • Motivation to wake up and work out early in the morning?

I'm trying to lose my belly fat and also be more fit. Currently I don't excercise at all, except for walking 10 minutes home from school. I don't have much time to work out because I have a heavy workload from school, so I also end up sleeping around 12:00 at night.

I'm trying to wake up a half hour early to skip rope in my basement as my daily excercise, but it's very hard to motivate myself to wake up early, and to work out in my unfinished and dark (especially in the morning) basement.

Any ways to motivate myself? Or general tips on balancing school workload, exercise, and still getting enough sleep?

  • How do I plot data with very small uncertainties?

    My measured quantities are

    0.300

    0.500

    0.750

    1.000

All in metres, and all with an uncertainty of 0.010

I only have a limited space on my graph paper (must be done by hand). So I was thinking of using a scale of 0.100

But then, my uncertainty would be miniscule, and almost impossible to graph.

  • I'm an introvert that's scared to be a leader?

I'm pretty shy. My friends would say I'm talkative, but I only act outgoing amongst the people I know really well. The problem is, I know extra curriculars are really important for university, and especially in order to get into Ivy League. My shyness has often held me back from joining clubs. As of now, I'm in junior year, and I've only been involved in my school's band for one year. I do have a part-time job, and I volunteer weekly at my Church. That's where the extra-curriculars stop.

Any tips, advice, or heart-felt words that can help me to become more of a leader? Not only am I realizing now that I need to join more clubs, but I also have to take on leadership positions. That's scary.

  • How to deal with inconsiderate family members?

So my parents are out for a couple weeks, but some family is coming over. So it'll be me (highschool), my brother (10 years old), and my grandma, plus visitors. Honestly I feel like I'm the only one who can keep everything together, nobody else is responsible.

The family coming over is my aunt and uncle and their 2 kids (5 and 1). They're pretty nice people, but they've also been fairly inconsiderate. Small example, the parents (not the kids) ate almost all of my 10 year old brother's halloween chips, and he's quite upset about that, but is too afraid to tell them so. I know this may seem silly, but he says that he'd have let them have some if they just asked, but they didn't even bother to ask.

So how should I deal with them? I don't want to be rude, but I also don't want to be used just because my parents aren't home. Thanks

  • How should I invest my part time job earnings?

I'm 16, and a couple months ago I got a part time job that pays about $2000 a year. I know that's not a lot, and right now I'm just putting it in a savings account because I have university to think about. But, i only get 0.01% interest, and $2000 is no where near enough to pay for tuition (let alone residence). So what are some ways that I can invest my money, so that I can pay for uni? Can't do stocks yet, so what are some other ideas?

  • How to do well in philosophy class?

So i took philosophy this year, not really knowing what it was but it looked interesting. Well, it is pretty interesting to learn about past philosophers and stuff, but what what am i supposed to do with this information? I don't really understand how i'm supposed to critique these philosophers' ideas because it seems like other philosophers have already criticized them. I have to write a paper now relating one of the topics we discussed to a scene in the matrix. Obviously there's quite a few philosophical concepts in the movie, but what am i supposed to do other than point it out?

    Thanks.

  • How to be more confident and social?

I'm a shy person, and it's hard for me to make new friends. it's also hard for me to make small talk with someone that i kinda know, but isn't necessarily a friend--more like a classmate. I'm not completely antisocial, i'm quite talkative when i'm with my friends. However, it's become hard for me to talk to anyone but them. Like, if we're talking and then another classmate comes by, i get all quiet and shy. So any tips on how to be more confident, and how to be more social with other people? I want to go into business or become an entrepreneur, but i know that no matter how hard i study, if i don't have the social skills, i'll become a failure. Thanks, any help is appreciated.

  • How to get along with coworkers?

So i recently landed a job at this piano tutor place (for piano theory). I used to go there as a student, and i still take classes for the higher levels. My question is how to be more outgoing and friendly with my coworkers? I just don't want it to be weird because some of them used to teach me (never really close with them). And since i'm going to be going there as a student and an employee now.

  • How to prepare for the IB program?

I've decided to continue to the IB program, but I don't feel very confident going into the school year. I understand that it's an extremely demanding program, and if i continue my work ethic from grade 10, i know that i'm going to crash and burn. I procrastinate too much, and i just work too slow (it takes me a while to understand things). My question is, how can i better prepare for the program, and what can I do to improve my work ethic? I need to possess the willpower to do my work right away because I'm not particularly bright, hard work is the only thing that's going to keeps me afloat.

    Thanks

  • am i allowed to tell him to eff off?

so there's this guy that i know, who's the son of my dad's friend and he also goes to my school. at first i thought that he was nice but awkward. then he kept stopping by my locker ALL THE TIME and it became annoying and i he became really creepy too. even so, i haven't been a complete bch and i still tried to have some conversations with him once in a while. sometimes though i keep my answers short to try to hint to him to leave me alone. however recently i went to a fam jam and he was there too. he swore all the time, even when i told him not too (we were at the park with little kids right in front of us) and he called my brother a dipsht because my brother beat him in some wii game. when i told him that was very rude he just said "i don't like being provoked". now i think he's just a major ahole and a complete dck. can i just tell him to eff off now?

  • Help with writing essays without plagiarizing.?

I'm terrible at writing essays. Whenever I have an essay for english (or any course for that matter) i always have to go on the internet first to search up other ideas. I either use someone else's work as an outline for mine, or i do that, and i find other stuff to paraphrase into my essay. I hate plagiarizing, but i just can't write essays. I almost got caught last time because of turnitin(dot)com, and i'm seriously trying to learn how to write without plagiarizing. I have trouble thinking of my own ideas, and once i go on sparknotes, i remember the points that they say (for english).

I have a history essay now, and obviously with history you have to research not only on the internet but books also. And i'm afraid that i'll end up plagiarizing again. Our teacher also wants us to use turnitin(dot)com, which is like a major enemy for plagiarizers. Can anybody give me any tips, not only for history essays, but for how to write essays in general without plagiarizing?

Thanks, i really want to do an honest, good job.

  • How to get a part-time job in highschool?

I'm in grade 10, and i really want/need a part time job so i can go out more. When you're applying for a job (ex.McDonalds, H&M, etc.) do you walk up to the cashier and ask for an application form? Or do you have to wait for stores to have the "now hiring" sign? I was also thinking of getting a phonebook, and just calling the local AMC or something. I've never applied for a job before, so how does this work?

Any other way to make money is also welcome--besides babysitting, raking leaves, dealing drugs, etc.
