Help with writing essays without plagiarizing.?
I'm terrible at writing essays. Whenever I have an essay for english (or any course for that matter) i always have to go on the internet first to search up other ideas. I either use someone else's work as an outline for mine, or i do that, and i find other stuff to paraphrase into my essay. I hate plagiarizing, but i just can't write essays. I almost got caught last time because of turnitin(dot)com, and i'm seriously trying to learn how to write without plagiarizing. I have trouble thinking of my own ideas, and once i go on sparknotes, i remember the points that they say (for english).
I have a history essay now, and obviously with history you have to research not only on the internet but books also. And i'm afraid that i'll end up plagiarizing again. Our teacher also wants us to use turnitin(dot)com, which is like a major enemy for plagiarizers. Can anybody give me any tips, not only for history essays, but for how to write essays in general without plagiarizing?
Thanks, i really want to do an honest, good job.

The idea of researching a topic is to develop the concepts and reference material for an essay.
Personally I use to write essays in this manner. I would firstly want to research the matter so that I had enough notes on the subject. I would take notes on the subject (ensuring that I wrote down the notes in my own words ... a lot of the time this is just rewriting what they have said so you understand it, or how you would explain/speak it to someone else). If you want to quote anyone ensure you write the quote out exactly and reference it probably (quotes are great if you can't think of a better way of saying it, or believe that the quote gives great strength to your ideas/position).
After you have sufficient matter on the subject then start with writing an introduction. Answer the question within the first few sentences. You can always go back and expand or refine the introduction later. The body then should be written in your own words. Do not copy and paste their words. Read their words, but write it in your own words (if you copy and paste you will be more likely to just plagarise). Pick out what is the main point of their paragraph and then write that up in your words ... do not reread their paragraph. Just dot down what their point is and then you write from there.
The idea is to summarise what you research, use dot points, mind maps etc. and that way you will have key events, dates, information only in front of you and therefore it is up to you then to write the essay around these (instead of copying their words and then trying to "personalise" it).

Doing work for home is a fantastic deal and not a lot of individuals get to do it even if they want this.
