  • How much should I charge to custom build a PC?

I'm going to be building a PC from the ground-up for someone on Craigslist.

It's a quite high-end (~$1,800) system, I will be doing a CPU + GPU + possibly RAM water cooling loop, and overclocking. I expect it to take about a week, if I do it carefully and run 24 hour stress tests on each piece (in between my own life of course).

I'm thinking around $200 is fair, given how much time/work is involved in the water cooling setup, cable management, time spent OCing, etc, but I often short-change myself when it comes to stuff like this.

  • When handing in a resume, what dress code is appropriate?

I'm going to apply at an NCIX near me (computer store), but am unsure as to how I should dress when I go to hand in my resume.

Usually I wear jeans + t-shirt + sweater (all fit me well, none of that baggy or skinny-jean crap that's so popular today). Is that too casual? I have dress pants + shirt + shoes and a tie that I bought for graduation. Is that too formal?

  • I have an old Logitech webcam, and the Logitech software is not supported by Windows 7, any alternatives?

I have a Logitech QuickCam Messenger (model 961237-0914), and it's several years old. I remember using some sort of video capture software instead of the Logitech QuickCam crap, does anyone know of what it may be? I just need some kind of driver so I can use the webcam on Skype.

  • I think I have ADHD, how do I go about confirming it?

I looked through the symptoms and took a couple quizzes/questionaires, and I'm quite sure that I have ADHD. I'd like to confirm it and possibly get medication to help with it, as it's starting to really hurt my relationship.

Do I just go and see my normal family doctor, or should I try to find a psychiatrist?

  • Can't sleep more than (nearly exactly) 6 hours?

For the past week (perhaps longer, but I've been paying more attention to it for the past week or so), I can't sleep longer than almost exactly 6 hours. The past couple days, I've gone to bed around 12:00 to 12:15, and every morning, without fail, I'm awake between 6:15 and 6:30. It doesn't matter how tired I was when I went to sleep or how tired I am when I wake up, I cannot sleep longer or get back to sleep after I wake up.

This has developed over the past couple weeks, I could sleep 9+ hours no problem last month.

I'm a 19 year old male, if that helps any.

  • Is this college course a good deal?

I am considering entering CDI College in Surrey, BC (Canada) for a Network Systems Engineer program.

Here is a link to the course outline:

    http://www.cdicollege.ca/Top-Career/School-of-Tech...

It gives me these 7 certifications:

    Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA)

    A+

    Net+

    Security+

    Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

    Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS)

and Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)

This will cost me approximately $18,500CAD, which seems very steep to me, but I don't know what other similar courses/certifications would cost.

    Your opinion?

  • Computer won't POST after Restart.?

I've been struggling with this problem for almost a week now... Basically, if I use the "restart" button in Windows 7, my computer won't POST, and refuses to POST until I spend hours (literally) resetting the CMOS, rebuilding my system, hundreds of attempted boots, etc.

Any help, suggestions, or (preferably) solutions?

    Specs:

    Athlon x3 440

    4GB G.SKILL DDR3-1333

    Asus M4A79XTD EVO

    EVGA GTX460

    Corsair TX650w

    Windows 7 Home Premium x64

  • Computer starts, no POST, no beeps?

So I have a new self-built computer, and it's been giving me trouble. As the questions says, the computer starts, but there's no POST and no beeps.

The first time, the CPU fan was the issue. I replaced the fan and it worked fine. I unlocked my Athlon 440 to a quad core, P95 tested for 8 hours, 100% stable, temps are great (never hit above 45ish, can't give exact temps as unlocking the core disables the CPU temp sensor, had to see how far away the mobo's socket sensor was from the actual temp and go from there). Played games all night, worked fantastic. Went to restart it this morning, and it won't start again. I've removed EVERYTHING. No post, no beeps, even with no CPU installed (it's supposed to beep when there's no CPU in, right?). I'm guessing it's a faulty mobo. How can you tell if the motherboard is dead? What else could it be?

    Specs:

    Athlon II x3 440

    4GB G.SKILL DDR3-1333 RAM

    ASUS M4A79XTD Evo

    EVGA GTX460

    Corsair TX650w

Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB HDD

    Antec 300

  • Our cat has been acting weird lately?

Lately, our 15 year old long-haired tabby cat has been acting weird.

She has kinds of OCDs, I guess you'd call them. She always sleeps higher than everybody else (if they're on the floor, she's on the couch, etc.), and she always sleeps on one corner of our dresser.

But she's been sleeping on the floor lately, and she was sleeping on a different corner of our dresser today, but she was curled up wierdly and breathing very irregularly. She would breathe really slow, then breathe really really fast, then slow down again, then it looked like she stopped breathing.

We thought she was dead, as she didn't wake up when we called her or petted/scratched her, but after a couple minutes she did wake up. I've never seen or heard of a cat sleeping that deeply, she usually wakes up before you even get close to her, let alone pet her or call her.

We tried looking this up on petsmd.com, but no help there... Anybody know what's going on?

  • What kind of drill bit do I need to drill through roughly 1/4" of "356 T6 aluminum"?

I'm planning on doing a little DIY project with a pair of longboard trucks, and I need to drill two 3/8" holes in "356 T6 aluminum". I'm a bit clueless when it comes to this kind of stuff.

What would be the best way of going about doing this? I've heard that it'd be best to start with a smaller bit to get started, then use a larger one, but I don't know if I need to do that with a hole as small as this.

    Thanks in advance.
