I have an old Logitech webcam, and the Logitech software is not supported by Windows 7, any alternatives?
I have a Logitech QuickCam Messenger (model 961237-0914), and it's several years old. I remember using some sort of video capture software instead of the Logitech QuickCam crap, does anyone know of what it may be? I just need some kind of driver so I can use the webcam on Skype.

It appears from what I just read on this site that Logitech is not supporting this particular cam any longer. Try the drivers for various other cams and maybe they will happen to work. Otherwise you could load an alternative operating system as a virtual machine and run the web cam and skype through the virtual machine. I know Vista home version does not have a virtual machine and I think they crippled the win7 home version as well, but you can get an open source program that will make a virtual machine.
Otherwise keep hunting and someone will eventually make a driver to use it with win7, but it won't be Logitech that does it.
Possibly the video capture software you are trying to remember is:
Debut Video Capture software
DV TS
EyeLine
Graboid
Muvee
NCH - a whole suite of software
NTI
PhoTags
Video Lan - videolan.org
PY software - Active Webcam

Go to the site: WWW.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility and search for your web cam on the Hardware Tab. Also you can open the Action Center (click the white flag in the task bar and select Open Action Center. Click the link Windows Program compatibility Troubleshooter and follow the instructions.
