I think I have ADHD, how do I go about confirming it?

I looked through the symptoms and took a couple quizzes/questionaires, and I'm quite sure that I have ADHD. I'd like to confirm it and possibly get medication to help with it, as it's starting to really hurt my relationship.

Do I just go and see my normal family doctor, or should I try to find a psychiatrist?

Good idea to see your family doctor, and he can recommend a psychiatrist if he thinks it's necessary.

Its hard trying to diagnosis a mental illness so anyone could be wrong even with the symptoms being right. You should go to a psychiatrist and ask them or have them evaluate you to see if meds are the right patH for you.
