Computer starts, no POST, no beeps?

So I have a new self-built computer, and it's been giving me trouble. As the questions says, the computer starts, but there's no POST and no beeps.

The first time, the CPU fan was the issue. I replaced the fan and it worked fine. I unlocked my Athlon 440 to a quad core, P95 tested for 8 hours, 100% stable, temps are great (never hit above 45ish, can't give exact temps as unlocking the core disables the CPU temp sensor, had to see how far away the mobo's socket sensor was from the actual temp and go from there). Played games all night, worked fantastic. Went to restart it this morning, and it won't start again. I've removed EVERYTHING. No post, no beeps, even with no CPU installed (it's supposed to beep when there's no CPU in, right?). I'm guessing it's a faulty mobo. How can you tell if the motherboard is dead? What else could it be?

Specs:

Athlon II x3 440

4GB G.SKILL DDR3-1333 RAM

ASUS M4A79XTD Evo

EVGA GTX460

Corsair TX650w

Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB HDD

Antec 300

Your first step will need to find out if any of the FAN spins when you press the power button (connected with the Power Supply and Main that is). Should the FANS failed to spin then this is likely to be a power issue which limiting the possibility to faulty Power Supply or Faulty motherboard.

If the fan does spin and you were not getting video signal, then it could be any piece of hardware from: RAM, Graphic Card, Motherboard or Power Supply (e.g. 5v failed).

You can borrow a friends PC and diagnose a piece of hardware by a piece of hardware.

An alternative to that will be get a Debug Card. It offers 2 character code which tells you at which stage did the Motherboard failed during POST (much more precise then just relying on beeps).

I'd suspect a DOA mobo or a DOA CPU. It sounds like it's not clocking which means either the clock signal isn't being made, isn't being passed to the CPU or the CPU is ignoring it... but as you've tried an alternative CPU I'd say DOA mobo. Why an ECS mobo in a custom PC? They're hardly the best out there! Whereas everything else seemd to be pretty nice spec from reputable companies, ECS is fairly low market.
