  • Need help choosing what to study?

I've always had trouble finding what I want to study. I actually already been to school twice. I did a year of software engineering in University. Then I did a year Computer engineering in college. I didn't have a problem with either but events happened in my life causing me to move around and I didn't get to finish any program.

Now it's a few years later, I saved some money. I can now go back to school with a serious attitude and finish.

I'm just not sure what I want to do as a career. If there was anything I was good at in school, it was programming. I enjoyed writing and editing code.

So I have done a college application now. The 2 programs I am looking at are business management, and computer network support technician.

The reason I am looking at business management is, I was thinking of buying products whole sale (for example, one of my hobbies is reading comic books) and selling them online. I just have no idea of how to run an operation like that and I was wondering if studying business will help me find that out.

The other program I was looking at is computer network and support technician. IT workers seem to have regular work. A nice steady job that can help them move forward in life. My only concern is that I don't think my programming background will have any relevance in this field but I feel it might help me grasp whatever concepts they teach fast since I understand how data flows.

Could someone give me some helpful advice?

  • why can coffee be causing me to be dizzy?

I used to be a moderate coffee drinker but lately when I drink coffee, I will feel alert for awhile but then after, I will start feeling very light headed and not able to stand for long, and I almost want to say it's like a diabetic feeling. I went to a doctor couple of weeks back to check if I have diabetes because it runs in my family, but the blood test shows my blood sugar is normal.

It was only recently I noticed my light headed feeling is triggered from caffeine

What could my problem possibly be and should I go back to the doctor or hospital?

  • Isn't Ramadan bad for your health? Please don't take offense to this question?

I heard you have to not eat or even drink water from sun rise to sunset. Wouldn't that put your body into starvation.

Then after you break the fast you feast on oily stews of meat and brothy rice and very thick, delicious food (I have had food at my Muslim friends house before, It was great)

Isn't this bad for a person's health? One of my muslim friends said they are not even allowed to take medicine during ramadan

  • Friends at gym who use creatine have anger problems?

I'm not asking if creatine as a supplement is safe to take. I'm sure it's good for working out. I have tried some before and noticed I was able to work out for longer and stuff.

When I had the pumped feeling after work out I noticed when driving and continuing on with my normal day to day I had less patience with people and got agitated easily. I don't usually have anger problems, so this felt like a mood swing to me.

My friends who use creatine regularly I notice them getting in crazy rages sometimes with their girlfriends, or family, or when they are driving.

It's actually concerning. Is the stuff they are taking effecting their moods

  • Too out of shape for physical activity?

I have been trying to get healthier. I changed my eating for healthy food.

The other day I tried playing basketball. It's been awhile. In the first round I was already out of breath and exhausted and felt like I couldn't go on. I had to keep pushing my self. If I was playing serious with other people I would be slowing the game down.

I don't get why that happens. Even the other day I was trying to walk up a hill I usually walk but when I got to the top I had to sit down.

I don't smoke, but I have to stop and keep taking deep breaths.

What could that be? too much salt in my diet or something? Do I have to practice cardio?

What can I do to prevent this.

  • Did chilli's really originate in South America?

I just heard that Pre-Colombian Asia didn't have Chilli peppers. It was originally cultivated by the natives of South Americas and the Europeans eventually brought it to Asia.

What did Asians eat before then?

I can't picture any Asian cuisines with out chilli's. Indian, Chinese, Thai, Malaysian.

  • if you eat lower calorie food, and feel hungrier at the end of the day is that counter productive?

I heard for many reasons you should avoid starving. When your body gets really hungry it tends to store the next meal as fat. I even heard someone say when your stomach is growling that's the sound of it getting ready to store the next meal as fat, I don't know if that's true.

Just wondering. If I switch to eating meals of not oily meat, steamed vegetables and small portions of carbs, and I still feel hungry after and instead of eating I keep drinking water (someone told me to do that) is that bad? does the same thing as when you are starving happen? or is it ok because atleast I ate my meals today?

  • is it ok to starve a little?

I'm not going to completely stop eating. But I'm thinking to cut some weight I could just eat like small meals a day? and drink lots of water when I feel hungry?

I haven't made any changes yet, just wondering if this would be a good idea or bad idea

  • How do you cook casava?

I have been changing my diet and it's been helping me, I am losing weight and getting a lot healthier.

I stopped eating cereals, like rice and wheat, and bread.

For my carbs I eat starches, I picked up ideas from my friends of different cultures (I live in a melting pot). Carribean people when they avoid eating rice the eat plantain and sweet potato or yams, with their veggies and meats. I do the same. It's really good and digest a lot easier.

I was at a bbq 2 days ago and even tho we were a mixed group the people who's house it was, were of Sri lankan decent.

They bbq'd chicken, pork, lamb, and these fish fillets inside banana leaves (tasted so good omg) and they also bbq'd these big Casava's. It was really good filling and still not heavy at the same time and tasted really good with the meat.

I looked online about cooking casava and they said you have to be careful for if you prepare it wrong, it can be poisonous, does anybody know how to prepare casava properly?

  • Quit drinking, social life is non existent?

Alcohol was a really bad factor in my life. I was going through a point in life where all the problems in my life have one word in common, alcohol, so I decided to eliminate that element of my life.

It's only been a couple of months. I haven't had a drop since last October. It's doing me really good health wise, I feel mentally fresh, and I overall feel better.

Socially it's effecting me though. I do not have the confidence to talk to new people I encounter in life. I went to parties 2 or 3 times sober and the first 2 times were a drag, I sat in the corner and stayed quiet. At least the 3rd time was ok because there was a pool table there and I was champion.

The main thing I'm concerned about is I quit drinking at the age of 29 and I'm going to be 30 soon. I never had a girlfriend in my life and it feels like I'm cutting out my social atmosphere and probably will never be able to meet a girl. Even when I tell girls that I don't drink it seems to be a turn off for them.

  • Is there really a lot of exercises you an do with a Chair?

one of my friends dissappeared everyone for awhile and then came back to the area recently, and I must say he got in shape! He's ripped now.

I asked him what his secret is, he said he works out at home with a chair. no gym, no weights, just works out with a chair, but I wasn't able to get more out of him because we were both on the run.

What work outs can you do with a chair?

  • How do you kiss a girls neck properly?

I'm kinda new to this physical relationship stuff.

Kissing a girl on her neck looks like it would be really nice, the girl always starts moaning in the porn movies when they do it,

When I do it though she usually pushes me back and laughs like "stop it that tickles"

    what am I doing wrong?

  • Why is Gotham so good the rest of the comic shows so wierd?

I'm watching Marvel Agents of Shield right now. I watched an episode of Flash before and I tried watching that DC League of Tommorow or whatever it is show and these shows seem kinda cheesy.

The actors seem so low budget and it feels like I'm watching power rangers for grown ups.

  • Is this a healthy way to cook meat for meal preps?

I started cooking my food and packing it away in containers.

I just eat meats cooked in cumin and pepper and little salt, steamed plantain steamed sweet potato, steamed brocolli, and a little black beans stew with (made with tomatoes bell pepper onion garlic and chilli's) all minimal salt and oil

I did 2 weeks with no rice, and this last week I reintroduced brown rice into my diet

I been losing weight eating like this, but I've been craving red meat.

Now I'm born and raised here but my parents descend from Southeastern Asia.

My favourite way of eating red meat is Goat curry, which is goat seared sauted with onions and chilli's, and submerged in water (which will make a broth, cause the meat is not boneless), then when the water is simmered out you slow cook it in it's own juices till it's tender and slips off the bone, this meat is shiny and fatty and delicious.

Now I picked up how Chinese prepare goat which is far different from how people of indian descent prepare goat, they first boil the meat in water and then drain all the water, you can visibly see all the fat go away and scum and stuff. After that they saute it with garlic chilli cumin and little soya sauce.

The meat still taste good, it's just a little less delicious, but it's not bad at all. So I'm wondering if pre boiling your meat is a good way to prepare meat.

This might sound like a stupid question because it's just cooking meat and removing the fat first, but I don't see anyone else cooking this way
