Birth Control??

I will be talking to my doctor tomorrow about my options. I am 30 years old with one child. I haven't been on birth control for years.

Which options are working for you and why?

I used the shot (depo) for a long time...some women get bad side effects from it, but I was never affected by them. You should try that, because you get it once every three months and no pills to remember everyday. also, my friend uses the ring and she just loves it.

I would say to try an IUD> They are really a hastle-free method. Also, you can have it removed and immediatly be reason to concieve. They are available without any hormones, either... I have the 3 year copper one, and I havent had any problems, only my period is a lot heavier than before I had a baby.... All my friends use this method as well, and havent had any unplanned pregnantcies... Talk to your doctor. Unless you are the kind that likes to take pills everyday, lord knows Im NOT! With a baby of 10 months now, its too hard to remember... With the IUD< you only have to think of the birth control once every 5 or 10 years. Whenever you're ready for more kids, its not a problem having them! Good luck!

an iUD... but this depends on whether you will be trying for more children in the near future.

i find that an IUD is the best option for me, because its the easiest thing. you never have to think about it, remember to take pills or put on patches, its just out of sight and out of mind. it lasts up to 10 years, depending on the type you get.

another option may be Depo, which i used for a while as well. it was nice because it made me lose weight and stop getting periods... but thats not always the side effects--some people gain weight and get heavier periods. but its a fairly conveinient methood as well, since you only need a shot every 3 months.

talk to you Dr and he will help you decide the best methood for you and your needs.

I love the hormone-free IUD. It lasts up to 10 years, it doesn't have hormones, and it's very efficient.
