So I have many friends where I live in Hawaii. However, no family members. They all live in the mainland and I know if I lived there, they would gladly throw me a shower. I do not want to depend on a friend to throw it, as I did with my Bridal shower and it ended up a total nightmare and another bridesmaid had to take over. So I was thinking of just doing my own shower. I am 7 months pregnant, and no one has indicated they're doing one for me, but many have asked when it is, and say just to throw it myself... and they will help out. Several of my friends have said they will help out with games, bringing a dish, etc... I just do not want to put anyone out since I know times are tough. But at the same time, I really want to be able to have the experience. I am actually a party planner, so I think everyone just assumes I will throw my own party... and I have the party space at my house... And like I said, Ive asked several friends if they think this is tacky of me to do, and they said no and it would be great to have it still... so Im pretty much in with the idea. Especially since my friends are going to help me with it as well...

Just wondering about suggestions on wording on the invitation and other general thoughts.

I just bought a Freestyle pump, it has not arrived yet, but Im wondering if it will work with the breast shields and membranes from the Pump in Style Advanced, since I have TONS of these pieces and tubing?! Anyone have any ideaS?!

So, every month I start my period almost always spot ON the 10th! Im typically DONE with my period on the 14th, at the latest... and today it's the 15th, NO PERIOD! I took a test on the 12th, was negative, and took 1 the 13th, negative, the 14th, negative, and this morning, negative! Something's not right, because my period is ALWAYS spot on! I have a 3.5 year old, and with him, I was late, and took the test 5 days later, and was a possitive right away! Also, felt the same as I do now. I have NO symptoms of my period coming. Every month right before I start, I get body cramps in my legs, and this month, nothing! So Im wondering what could possibly be going on. My husband and I were trying for a while to get pregnant, and nothing was happening... so I actually just gave up, and now we're not really "trying" and not really "preventing" it... Just wondering any suggestions?! OR if anyone has been in a similar situation. Im feeling almost exactly like I did when I was pregnant with my son, with this feeling of vomit coming... and that's exactly how I felt right at FIRST when I found out I was pregnant with him... but NO symptoms of when my period will start. What could this be?! Am I possibly pregnant but not showing on tests?!

Does anyone know if COMBI or BRITAX infant car seat's fit with the GRACO snugride car seat FRAMED stroller? Ive been looking everywhere and got one for a gift, but I want to use the BRITAX companion or chaperone car seat for our infant... I know for a FACT that the COSCO and SAFETY 1st models do not work on this car seat carrier...

I have had my COPPER PARAGARD IUD in for nearly 3 years... Friday the 28th I got it taken out, my husband and I are trying to get pregnant. I am always regular on my period and I have found that the PARAGARD is a non hormonal IUD. I was ovulating THAT day of removal. We had sex that day and Sunday when my ovulation was at it's peak.

Im wondering how long it took those of you who also have a copper IUD to get pregnant... I have always gotten my period like clock work and the same as before I was pregnant... so just wondering if its even possible to get pregnant right away?! How long did it take you?

Im getting married in Spring of 2010 in Hawaii, where we live... And I need some help! I am having my bridesmaid's wear a nice light fucshia dress from jcrew in taffetta. Im stumped as to what I should have my groomsman wear?! I wanted to do a hotpink and light pink and also accents of Orange wedding theme... would light orange colored shirts look nice on my groomsman with hot pink bouteniers? Advice? Help?! Any thoughts?!

What should I do here? My fiance's sister (and only sibling, their brother died 2.5 years ago) is totally pissed she has to pay for her BM dress. Apparently, she wasnt aware she would be paying for this "hidden" cost as she calls it... The dress is $60 only. I advised her and ALL my bridesmaids of the cost and if they cannot afford it they need to just let me know, or at least pay SOMETHING twords it... even $20, I understand. Im not rich either... and WE are paying for the wedding ourselves...

What should I tell her, now that she's trying to make this big deal about it... she didnt have a wedding when she and her kids father got married... so im wondering if she's just jealous, or what?!

When I spoke to my mother about a month ago, I advised her there is a balance due on my wedding gown, in which she insinuated she will be paying for it... I thought it was very kind of her considering she hasn't offered to even HELP me with any planning, let alone anything financial when she has the money... She used/stole money that was left for me from my father before I turned 18 and I surely thought that being that this is my wedding (1st marriage) and im her only daughter she would have at least done this, considering it is only $500 for the dress. I had to pay the dress myself and when I last emailed her to question her about it she acted as if she had no clue what I was talking about?! I told her nevermind already, because I would just deal with it myself... But it really hurts my feelings that she hasnt taken any interest in helping me... especially after she's always told me that I wouldnt have to worry about anything... My entire life I was told, well, when you get married, Ill help you with that... This coming from a 52 year old woman who announced she was getting married to her on again off again boyfriend litterally 4 months after my engagment and HAD to get married before WE did, of course... not to mention that I did EVERYTHING along with my fiance for her on her day! What should I do? Im so hurt!

and the next to be ORANGE, although... IM thinking of using mimosa's for the ORANGE factor...

Any ideas? We will be bringing our own liquour for the VENUE for this... Please make ideas simple and cost effective...

Hello all! I need some serious HELP!!! I want to cancel my wedding!!! We're to get married April 2010 at a beautiful place. Adding up costs again last night, and its going to be over 10k for this wedding. My fiance and I seriously are rethinking this, and thinking about just going to Vegas and having a really fun weekend with just US, and who ever can afford to fly there with us. We live in Hawaii.... And all this stress from planning, etc is just too much already and we would much rather have this wedding be about US rather than everyone else! I've already bought a couture gown... etc. Things are just too much already with regards to stress! My bridesmaid's arent helping me with any of the planning, and stressing me out more than anything... Im litterally LOOSING my hair because of everything!!! AND I've already sent out my Save The Date cards...

Is there a "proper" way to just send out new announcements saying we're NOT having a wedding anymore and want to do something for just US? I know it sounds rude, and that we should of thought about this before... But I guess I thought that things would be different and that my fiance would still be working, etc. I just dont even want to deal with this anymore... neither one of our mothers offered to help us, (and they BOTH have a lot of money) and as the bride, i feel so overwhelmed and that Im planning this big party, for everyone else to enjoy, but ME! I just want to cry thinking about everything already... Im not excited anymore, or anything. I think that just going somewhere else, we can pay for airfare and I can stay at the hotel for free, because my job here has places there for free stays... it just would be like a vacation and a wedding in one... and more importantly, would be soley about US! HELP! What can I do at this point?!

My polka dot dress is a little different than others... It's Diamond white, with polka dots a lot of tulle... ITs called Rasharna by Maggie Sottero... I cannot figure out what to wear with it. Our colors are Yellow and Ivory, with touches of pink...

If I wear a light pink and ivory dress. My fiance told me in the very beginning that he wanted an IVORY wedding. Everyone in IVORY. Since we live in Hawaii I really took over the entire event and advised him he can wear Ivory and I will also. And the BM and MOH will wear Yellow. SPRING colors. However... now Ive found a pink dress, identical to MY Ivory dress, but its a light rose color with ivory tulle (maggie sottero dress, named Rasharna) and I think I like that better! Pink is totally my favorite color! Im re0thinking my spring 2010 wedding and thinking of returning my BM dresses I bought and getting Ivory dresses now... What is everyone's thoughts???

I've already bought my dress... its a Maggie Sottero, RASHARNA. In the DIAMOND WHITE color. However, when I ordered it I went through about a month of what color I wanted. The Ivory and Pink, or the Diamond white, which looks like light Ivory. We're getting married in the spring time of 2010. My bridesmaids are wearing a jcrew dress that's yellow. Do you think if I was to wear the polka dot dress in light pink, it will clash with their dresses? My colors are the yellow and pinks... so Im pretty sure it will look nice. I already ordered the diamond white, however I wont get it until the end of the year and its probably going to be a tad too big, since I was larger when I ordered it. The pink dress, same style, is like WAY inexpensive, and it's the size I think I need right now... thoughts?

Ive been looking EVERYWHERE! I cannot find what I like. Im wearing a maggie sottero dress, in diamond white. I want a pair of eithe bright YELLOW or Bright PINK satin low heels, or prefer WEDGES since we're getting married in the grass... I would like Ivory too. I cannot find ANYTHING! Ive looks and Jimmy Choo's, and Manolo's, and even Vera Wang, cannot find nothing that is a wedge... can you help? I dont want a heel that is really high, because my groom and I are really close in height. So even flats would be good too! All flats I find dont have a peep toe, since we're getting married on Kauai in Hawaii in the spring?! Can you help send me info and websites? Thanks!

I have between 7 to 10 gifts I need to buy for bridesmaids and flower girls! I am on a budget... so Im wondering what to get them? Also, SOME of the bridesmaid's arent really taking ANY part in helping for my wedding... should I get them the same gift?

Where can I buy the bulb-set for chinese lanterns for my wedding?

We're getting married in April and Im having an outdoor wedding here in Hawaii where I live... Im trying to look for the cords with bulbs for Chinese Lanterns! Does anyone know where I can get these? I already have the lanterns... and I dont even need to use them, I might just want to use the bulbs by them self, or every other lantern... etc! Please Help!!!

My sister's friend is having a destination Mexico wedding! She has several bridesmaids. All of which have graduated from college in the last year, and have NO funds. Most dont even have REAL jobs yet! 1 is still in school infact. My sister has already spent over $1200.00 just to be in this wedding!!! She had to buy her dress (this is understandable) and than buy her ticket to the destination. Along with also paying for accommodations in this outragious hotel!!! Initially when she was asked to be in the wedding, the bride advised everyone that her parent were going to pay for part of it since its a VERY expensive wedding... and her parents have money! So, the bridesmaids including my sister all agreed to be in the wedding! Now, she's spending all of this money she doesnt even have and this bride wasnt them all to pay for her and themselves to fly for a weekend party for a bachelorette party! One of the my sisters friends in the wedding had to take a student loan out to come up with the money!!! This is never ending! Everyone in the bridal party thinks its so tacky that she told them that her family would take care of it... in reality the wedding is less than a month away and no one is offering anything. Instead, she has had 5 bridal showers. It seems like each bridesmaid has thrown her a party... and she wants MORE. I will admit, she is a sweetheart, and she's just really spoiled from her family. But my sister and her friends cannot afford this. Some of the girls dont even have JOBS! What should they do? It just seems as if this is getting out of hand! How should they ask if the parents are going to come through, or not! Bride is very very lucky... got a brand new mercedes concertible for granduation... but her friends arent as fortunate as she is! IS my sister and her friends wrong to be getting upset over spending nearly $1500! When is enough enough? I couldnt even ask anyone to spend that on a wedding that wasnt their own!

Im getting married next year... My MOH is the mother of my 2 flower girls... Who typically pays for the Flower girl dresses? Do I? Or does the parents of the girls? Im not sure what's customary...

I have known this girl for over 7 years! We used to go out and have lunch and shop, have drinks, etc. before she got into this relationship. I have a son, Ive always included her in any parties, or anything that Im having... She never comes, but always meets with me later to give a gift, or just do something with the 2 of us. She has been dating the same guy for about 4 years. He has 2 kids from a previous marriage, that she has taken in to be her kids, basically. They're like her daughters now... and look at her as their mother. She and I have been waitting for her now fiance to propose since she's been planning her wedding since she was 10years old. And she's approaching 30 now. She's watched all of us have kids, and even plan our weddings, so when I found out he FINALLY proposed, I was SOOOOO genuinly excited for her! She and I talked for almost an house the day after he popped the question and she text messaged me pics of the ring and all. I spoke with her about 2 weeks after that and she had already began planning... she told me all about their wedding and what colors, number of attendants, and where they're considering doing the wedding, even pics of her dress! I told her how happy I am for her... and how happy I will be for them both! I wasnt expecting to be in her wedding... at any time. Ive spoken to several of mutual friends and they've all gotten invites and save the date cards for her wedding... and i have to be honest... Im getting married in April and she was very much going to be invited to my wedding. I sent her a text message about a month ago, just to check in and see how things are going... and she didnt reply. I even saw her with a co-friend of mine and she didnt say hello to me. My feelings are really hurt... and I want to say something to her, but I dont want her to tell her fiance about what Im saying, since he has mutual friends of mine and might try to jeopordize my friendships with them.... I feel kind of foolish now that maybe Ive thought all along that we were friends and she doesnt feel that same way... even after she told me ALL about her wedding too. Let the truth be told, their wedding is like a HUGE event and its not like they're trying to cut the guest list. They dont even HAVE a budget for their wedding and have invited like everyone. I thought at first maybe she didnt have my address. But she has my number. And I thought maybe the Save the Date card was lost, but since she hasent called me to even get my info... I think she is just not inviting me... My feelings are really sad because Im so happy that finally she can have the wedding she has always talked about having... What should I do? I was thinking of texting her like a week before her wedding (which is next month) and asking what her mailing address is so I can send her a Save the Date to my wedding! My friend suggested doing that, so she knows that I am still the bigger person to REMEMBER her when she didnt have enough class to remember me....

My best friend does not want to be a part of my wedding any longer. Her husband is telling her that he doesnt like the idea. My fiance and my best friend had a miscommunication 6 months ago... Where my fiance took my side in a fight i had with my best friend and said that she was taking advantage of our friendship. I confided in him, and he harbos bad feelings twords her since she really hurt my feelings as a friend. She and I had lunch and we put all the cards on the tables nearly 6 months ago. She is hurt my fiance didnt come to her birthday... and since her feelings are hurt since he expressed that he didnt care for her... she is now telling me she doesnt want to be in our April 2010 wedding. Its really hard for me because I feel like she should be supportive of me, since she's MY friend. And my fiance is over this already and really wants her in the wedding for my sake too. Her daughter is suppose to be our flower girl. What should I do? My feelings are really hurt and everytime I talk to her about this I just want to cry because my feelings are really crushed at this point. I feel like she needs to get over this already. Its been a long time now. What should I do? Im going to be really upset if she's not there. She told me she doesnt know if she even wants to come to the wedding... let alone being in it. I feel like this could really effect our friendship and I dont know if Ill ever be able to get over it if she does this to me....
