Check the FLUID LEVEL of the TRANS and the COOLANT and the STEERING FLUID! USE ONLY PENNZOIL ULTRA EURO oil and NEVER VALVLOINE a VERY BAD and derived oil that makes SLUDGE and TAR and WAX deposits and CORRUPTS seals and gaskets! >>>go to a DIY car wash with a can of GUNK ORANGE original ENGINE CLEANER and CLEAN the entire ENGINE BAY to SHOWROOM! >>>PLAN on g9oing to ANY VW/ADUI dealership and having ALL your fluids FLUSEHD and CHANGED! If you EVER used PRESTONE or PEAK you will have ISSUES! VW coolant is NOW VIOLET>ROSE in color after the PINK G5 coolant! they UPDATE all the FLUIDs in time! YOUR BRAKE FLUID is NOW a DEAD FLUID and is VERY DARK BROWN! It NOW is like LIQUID SANDPAPER and WILL cause BRAKE ISSUES if NOT replaced with FRESH fluid! The STEERING has been updated to CHF 202 as WELL! To PREVENT AC issues have them do an AC TUNE UP! They will REMOVE all the FREON and CLEAN IT and RE install it with FRESH PAG lubricant! this PROTECT it from FAILING! >>Remove the VALVE COVER and have it STEAMED CLEAN! The BREATHERS are in it! Be SURE that your PCV HOSES and VALVES are NOT worn out! if they ARE it is because you used the WRONG ENGINE OIL! REAL AUDI VW oil is called 502/505 OIL! PENNZOIL ULTRA EURO protects out to 500.000 MILES! Use BLAUPARTS and 1-800-ALL-EURO for any PARTS you need! CONTROL ARMS at ROCK AUTO are only $20-30 EACH! You CANNOT beat that and they are Genuine GERMAN ONES!>>>CHANGE ALL THE FLUID NOW and use ONLY a genuine VW battery! AUTO ZONE batteries are PURE JUNK and WORTHLESS!!!! READ your MANUAL for the STEERING SYSTEM! >>>POWER WASH the ENGINE BAY with GUNK ORANGE original cleaner! this will RESTORE WIRING HARNESSES an the engine will DISSIPATE HEAT more EVENLY! Using PENNZOIL will keep the engine COOLER INSIDE as NO harmful COATINGS will BAKE into the ENGINE PARTS!  >>YOUMJUST use ONLY GENUNIE AUDI.VW FLUIDS! the ORIGINAL came from PENTOSIN company, even the OIL!  the RIGHT VW oil change is good for TWO FULL YEARS! they use a FLEECE filter that filters to MICRONS! >>NO VALVOLINE EVER>>>>>>> unless YOU LIKE repair bills for STUCK sensors and CLOGGED up engine jets!  and FILTHY PISTON RINGS!!! and ENGINE WEAR!  ONLY 502/505 Oil  MAY BE USED in it! I have engines out there with 457,000 miles! They ALL used the RIGHT FULLY SYNTHETIC OIL made from EACH type of CAR! BMW needs LONG LIFE, LL-02 oil only! BENZ needs 229.03;229-05 oil ONLY! ETC! GM needs DEXOS or BETTER oil in it They NOW use mostly EUROPEAN and KOREAN engines, and the PONTIAC VIBE uses a TOYOTA engine! The CRUZE diesel is a BMW engine!  ETC!  The TRANS And STEERING come from the ZF German company and NOW they supply LINCOLN< FORD< CADDY, and MOST CHRYSELR cars with TRANNIES and STEERING! >>CHANGE ALL your FLUIDS to get ANOTHER 100,000 miles with ZERO issues but TIRES and BRAKES! It is ALL up to YOU!

THAT BATTERY IS GARBAGE.  iT WON'T HOLD A CHARGE.

5 year guaranty battery will normally last 7 years   7+7=14 +2006=2020

That battery is dead. It WON'T HOLD A CHARGE AT ALL. You need a new battery.  Buy from Wally instead of dealer. You save bucks for the same battery except you are not paying for the VW name. The battery will last the same.  Make sure you buy the battery for your car. Ask them at Wally for the right battery for your car. Yes there are cheaper but you need the one for the VW so you pay more.  Let them put it in and check your charging system out too.  Maybe an extra $20.  Just to be sure.

Try taking the battery cables off of the battery and holding them together for a minute. You may have set up some electrical feedback in the electrical system that triggered the light. Make sure you don't have the key in the ignition.

Read the owner's manual.  It will tell you why the light is ON.  Check the power steering fluid.  If it is empty, there is likely a leak and you have to see a mechanic to get it fixed.  If the car has electric power steering, it could be a bad torque sensor.  Good luck.

Check and usually just tighten the Drive Belt(s).
