 Where is the thermostat located on a 2015 VW passat 1.8T?.?

    Stick your head by the passenger wheel from the bottom side .  You will see the big radiator hose go to the water pump.  There is no drain tap to drain the rad, so you got to pull off the bottom rad hose slowly on cool water. so it leaks out slowly.  Otherwise you lose the coolant on the ground which was perfectly good stuff. The thermostat is right there in the water pump and you just take it out.  I had no reason to so I don't.  They have been built for 100 years so they do not get stuck. It is perfected. You have a different problem.  Too bad you did not say what that was.

    Do a search on youtube for replacing the thermostat on your motor. You'll find videos showing you where it is.
