Alternative to eggs for burgers and meatloaves?
Dealing with milk and egg allergies in a partner, and wanted to make some of my family's classic dinners (he's never had them) but I'm not really sure what to use to bind meat together? Obviously a banana or applesauce won't match these.
I would prefer not to use egg replacer, partially due to the difficulty in finding one without egg and because we do try to eat clean.
Any suggestions for how to make bound-meat products like meatballs, burgers and meatloaves without eggs? (I wouldn't mind finding a way to bind for egg-free veggie burgers either.) I try just leaving them out of the meat, but they are more prone to falling apart.
For the egg replacer, I am paraphrasing an allergist. He said to watch out for that. I still wonder if egg replacer can work in a clean diet, though.

Egg replacer does not have egg; you are probably thinking of egg substitute, which contains egg. I suggest powdered egg replacer. It is made by Ener-G. It comes in a box and costs approx. $6. It replaces at least 100 eggs, so it is actually cheaper than real eggs. It is sold at most health food stores and many grocery stores in the health food section. It is not refrigerated.
