If you have a KN95 (FDA approved) or N95 mask that fit well around the connection with your skin, they usually have a pocket of space between the mask and your nose / mouth.

i have fairly severe allergies and I have no problem wearing a mask. Are you just making excuses. 

Not approved because they compromise the seal around the mask contact with face. It lifts the mask which is the opposite of what wearing a surgical mask and cloth mask over that. The reason why two masks are better than one is because the first mask is smashed against your face creating a good seal by the cloth pushing on top of it.

You are the opposite and not at all recommended. You sure breath better because you end up with gaping holes of the side of the mask with brackets.

They don't work and are not safe and stop pretending that they were approved by the CDC. Never happened and never will.
