Can allergies and sinus infections make you have lost of taste?
My son and I went to the doctor this afternoon but I forgot to ask the doctor if allergies can make you lose your sense of taste(taste buds). We didn't take the covid-19 test, since he looked inside of our mouths and ears.
My doctor goes by the symptoms. Everything I eat and drink has no taste as in flavor.

Sinus infections an allergies alter the sense of taste or even create bad tastes, but they do not cause tastes to disappear. Its pretty strange that your doc didn't test you for covid since loss of taste is one of the more common symptoms early in the infection, and there's not many other explanations.

Sinuses can block the nasal passages interfering with taste cause they are connected together
