Most people say that to be goth you need a gothic mindset, but what does this mean? what is it about?

I don't know how to explain it too well but il go from what I've heard, it's pretty much finding beauty in things that are considered creepy or dark. I don't think there really is a specific definition of the word. Ive seen people (goths) who don't even think there is a goth mindset. It's hard to explain but if you like goth music, literature, and fashion then you probably have a "goth" mindset. Like for example I love this certain song that kind of has a classical tune to it and the lyrics have sort of a sad tone to them but it's a very pretty song, aleast in my opinion but when I played it to my mom, she thought it was depressing and didn't like it where as I thought it was Beautifully written and a amazing song. Or course everyone has different opinions on songs, goth or not but it's kind of a good example of what I meant with the goth mindset. A lot of gothic literature is "dark" (I can't think of a better word to describe it) and someone without a mindset to appreciate that might find it too depressing for them. Same for music and fashion, some people think goth music is too creepy or sad and that the fashion side of it has too many dark colors. Lol. It's just a different taste in literature, music and fashion. You could use it to define more than that but I think that paragraph was what it was for the most part.

the mindset of a goth basically involves seeing the beauty in things other ppl may typically describe as "dark", "creepy", etc. finding attraction (optionally) or beauty in things like dead trees/roses/other plants, graveyards/cemeteries, skulls, fog/cloudy skies, (dark) forests, ravens/crows/other black birds or animals, stuff like those.
fact of it is, if you have a mindset similar to that of a goth, then you'd likely be considered one (despite labeling, + also having in mind that a goth also generally enjoys listening to or at least appreciate gothic rock music as well), as a "goth" can be as easily defined as someone who listens to gothic rock music + has a certain mindset (as explained above). the gothic fashion is only *optional*, but highly common/used among most ppl who are part of the goth subculture (who doesn't enjoy the fashion involved?) :)

Like a regular mindset any normal breathing human being?? Just the aesthetics? Look up the culture. Why is this even a question?
