Should Christie help Weiner become mayor?
Weiner is hated by the Clinton's, but is very close since his wife is an aide to Hillary. A very close aide. If Christie were to help Weiner become mayor, it would indirectly bring more scandal to the Clintons, who are the guaranteed candidates for the next presidential election. Namely Hillary. Of Weiner were mayor, he would be very scandalous. No doubt. After the correlation to the Clintons and Scandal is revealed (again) a republican would win the election.
Not that it is really improbable a republican would be elected next election, but scandals like this, added to Benghazi, would be the nail in the coffin for the only competitive candidate for the Democratic Party. Plus, Christie is revered among democrats for being close to Obama, so it seems less suspicious when Christie helps Carlos Danger in office. It also destroys NYC in the process (Weiner would be a terrible mayor.) Which opens up the door to a republican Mayor for NYC.
Weiner destroys the Clintons
NYC Mayor likely republican
President guaranteed republican
Win-Win-Win.

No. The Wiener scandal won't hurt the Clintons at all. Clinton supporters support them regardless of scandal, and Clinton haters hate them regardless of scandal. They've been a part of national politics much to long to be influenced by any kind of association with Anthony Wiener. Chris Christie, on the other hand, could hurt his own reputation even more by being seen as helping Anthony Wiener, though. If he helps Wiener, he'll never make it through the Republican primary process to get their nomination.

Dear Aquaman - you need to come up for some air. Christie isn't going to help the Democrats in any way, shape, or form. Republicans have been working so hard at arousing hatred for Obama and the Democrats that if Christie is associated in any way with a Democrat, he can kiss his political career goodbye. Politics are about 60% appearance, and about 5% actual reality. The other 35% is about absolutely nothing.

It is unlikely Christie Whitman would support Anthony Weiner. Or do you have some other Governor of New Jersey in mind.

Christie will suck up to the party of Weiner to keep his job.
