I propose America split into two separate countries. The right and the left are too diametrically opposed to work anymore. There is no way either of the 2 candidates for president will be able to represent all the people. The only way all the people can possibly be represented by government is to have 2 separate countries; Romney president of one and Obama president of the other.

It's a great and instructive thought experiment is what I think. Imagine how terrible things would be for everyone if everyone's "if I ran the zoo" ideas were laws enforced by police, with no organized opposition party. Everyone in both countries would be so miserable that they would ... be forced ... to move to... Canada...

That wouldn't work because America is not just spilt into two groups. Some are for neither candidate. So that would still leave many unrepresented.

but who would pay for all the entitlement programs the left wants if the working people of this country separated? I think its an awesome idea. libs can have California, Massachusetts, Minnesota and Michigan. Oh ya, they already have those states!

Its Slavery Vs. Freedom...
Slavery comes in many forms, in the slave master named fear, named tyranny, named debt, named guilt, named shame, named intuitionalism…just to name a few.
Freedom is living without a safety net…unless you yourself placed a safety net under you. Government safety nets cost you freedom and they continue placing safety nets around you for your “safety” and pretty soon there are so many safety nets around you that you are now in a prison and the only thing “safe” is the government who can safely rape, rob and steal whatever you once had.
