Talked to a friend of mine this weekend from another western country, he was asking why so many mass shooting in US?
Frankly I could not explain it. He says people overseas are beginning to think we have lost our minds over here. Do you have an answer for him?

Look at American history, how it came to be!
Guns and firepower got rid of the indigenous population.
Confrontation versus cooperation!
The *winners* replicated, their genes! Mistrust of government. Hatred of *others*.
Letting a mentally unsound individual or groups buy guns, predictable outcome!
Some of the shooters have been trained by the American military! Maybe their post traumatic syndrome wasn't dealt with before being let loose into civilian life!
The NRA spends a ton of money to ensure their remit never falters, never mind how many shootings occur!
Shootings are no longer news! The element of surprise is non existent!

I have no idea either. Our politicians don't seem interested in finding out why so many are happening.
@"He says people overseas are beginning to think we have lost our minds over here."
Americans in general aren't engaging in mass shootings, nor are we okay with it.

ok, try this....
how would most Americans feel about the end of birthright citizenship?
...or the restriction of welfare benefits to citizens....?
...or the requirement to work to maintain those benefits...?
how would you explain to Americans how common it is in other nations for surveillance cameras to be on every street corner....or how soldiers with assault rifles routinely patrol their train stations?
like it or not American freedoms work both ways....and conversely, the "security" offered by other nations often comes at a price most Americans would not accept laying down....
....which brings us back to the 2nd Amendment and the Bill of Rights as a whole specifically existing to prevent the State from infringing upon the rights of the People .... and the responsibilities the People must bear in keeping those rights...
the day those who scream for the State to save us from ourselves win is the day our Constitutional system ends...

"Fake news" stays up longer because they need control at every stage of production or the message might get out of their control.
"Real news" has a shorter air-span because it doesn't fit their narrative for some reason or it might not contain the right symbology and numerology.
