    well they can't drink milk and stuff, they'd have to consume substitutes instead

    Means you child cannot absorbe anything with Lactose in it, so they are getting no nutrients from things like milk, also can make them very sick, stuffy nose, runny stools, conspitated, get some goats milk which has no lactose in it.

    It means they cannot get much calcium in their diet and they need calcium supplements.
