good 400m time for a senior highschool boy?

i looked at the world record time and it's around 45 seconds

so should i add another 5~10 second to that and would that be a good time?

and how would i train for the 400m? i'm used to long distance running so how can i make that transition?

Many high school boys run around 52 seconds, and some run under 50.

What is good depends on your competition.

The 400 is a sprint so you need to do speed work, and it is a long sprint so you need to do stress, speed endurance, and pace work.

To make the transition you must get into a program that works on the phases of the race, and learn to sprint, this is a complicated and very difficult race.

as lengthy as you keep working stressful and performing properly you will earn a scholarship. i would not anticipate an entire-trip except you initiate working extreme 40s interior the 4 hundred and get low a million:50s interior the 800. i'm additionally a sophomore. I ran a fifty six 400m final 12 months yet i've got under no circumstances ran an 800. I ran a a million:35 600m race final month although. you in all hazard gets some kind of scholarship money although so i would not concern too a lot. basically attempt to a minimum of make states and get your call published interior the numerous enormous meets.

a GOOD time for a senior is around 48-51. average is probably 52-54. if you already have endurance built just work on short sprints such as 200s and 150s to build those twitch muscles.
