What do you think of my letter to Joe Barton?
This is the letter I sent to Joe Barton in regards to his comments during the BP hearing.
Mister Barton,
I usually don't bother with the "politics" of government because I have better things to do with my time. However, during the past months I have been paying close attention to the governments response to the devastating oil spill occurring in the waters of the gulf. It saddens me to watch all that life choking crude gush from the seabed. However, what sickens me even more is to see a member of my congress, democrat or republican, have the audacity to apologize to the company that was responsible for not only this ongoing environmental disaster that even my children won't see the end of but also the tragic unnecessary deaths of eleven working Americans. Was the statement that you made prepared or was it just "off the cuff"? Were you aware of the retaliation for being so indifferent to the suffering of the gulf people? Do you even care for people who have lost their jobs, their land, their entire way of life? If Americans ever needed a reaffirming statement to say that Republicans have their money hungry hands in the deep overflowing pockets of "Big Oil" you sir gave all of us that statement yesterday. For all you've done during your career as a member of the U.S. government, be it positive or negative, you will always be remembered for the terrible and downright idiotic words you said on Capitol Hill yesterday. You should be ashamed. America is based on the hard working paycheck to paycheck family......not the greedy fat hog that is you. The people of the gulf deserve every penny that BP has and more. You, Mr. Barton, are a very bad person.
Mr. Dion H.
How does everyone else feel about his response to this disaster?

To me the letter is childish and ill-informed. It is obvious from watching the BP hearing the legislators were on a witch hunt. BP had acknowledged it's responsibility, and promised to honor all legitimate claims long before BO and these phony "concerned legislators" began their threats and showboating. The inquisition members have done more damage to the country through their socialist legislation, corruption, theft of taxes, and ignorance than BP could ever do. I would laugh if BP pulled all it's retrievable assets and told BO and those whining and screeching over the spill, "OK, have at it, see if you can do a better job." Barton was right in apologizing for these idiots.

I think your letter was right on target.
and I think Barton was probably talking to BP executives on he q-t and simply forgot - or did not give a darn - about the people he represents.
Good for you!!

I would have been a little harsher, but given that I like your letter. Personally I can't think of anyone who would vote for him again. Hopefully people are not so stupid as to accept his apology and ever vote for him for anything. He has shown he does not care about anyone but himself.
