Here is a plan that should get implemented. This was emailed to me. The writer is unknown. It is appearing all over the internet. Someone should turn this into real legislation, that would give me some Hope and Change I could believe in!

1. Term Limits: 12 years only, one of the possible options below.
    A. Two Six year Senate terms
    B. Six Two year House terms
    C. One Six year Senate term and three Two Year House terms

Makes great sense for the population of the US. Unfortunately, it would take all of Congress, plus a Constitutional amendment to implement and so far, no one in Congress has been interested in putting him or her self out of a job and lifetime benefits.

why does everything have to go back to the founding fathers, you even capitalized it. They are not canonized. They put down what they wanted in the Constitution. If you think the gov't is wrong then it is what the Constitution has allowed and so maybe change the Constitution or modify it radically. That's what admendments are for.
I can point to one of many things in the main text, it's a fact in black and white (no pun) and not playing the race card, I'll leave out who it was refering to, to make it more palatable: certain people shall be counted as 3/5 of a person when taking census for Congress. quote. doesn't matter who it was, Is this the spirit of the Founding Fathers too?

I believe one term in the Senate two in the House. The reason I believe this is because of what Zell Miller said. "As soon as a new member of Congress comes in, the rest corrupt them". What we have now are Congress members sitting there for 40 and 50 years. This is not what the Framers had in mind with the Citizen Statesman. A member can now serve one term and collect his salary as retirement for the rest of his life.
