Taking the shows I've DVRed to the gym with me? Archos?

I commented to someone recently that I can't wait until they create a device that allows me to do this. He said Archos does it, but I looked on the net and can't really tell which device would do it. Also, I have AT&T for my cable service so how does that work?

    You connect an A/V cable from the cable DVR to the Archos, play on the DVR, record on the Archos.
