8% spandex what do you think?

My daughter's school has a dress code. One of the rules is no spandex pants. I bought her some really cute capris but they are 8% spandex.

Do you think they are in violation of the dress code,,,,,,,help?

No, I don't think anyone will notice. It's not like they go around checking everyone's tags!

No, I wouldn't think that would qualify. That's no more than a regular fabric with a little bit of stretch in them. I always buy stretch jeans, and they have 8-12% in them. Appearance wise you can't tell any difference in them from regular jeans. They're just more comfortable. The dress code probably applies to stretch leggings and capris, the kind like you wear with the babydoll and tunic tops. They're super elastic and almost completely made of lycra and spandex.

No, what they are concerned about are the 100% spandex pants from the 80s--or skintight leggings from present day. Most jeans nowadays have spandex in them, but no one would ever know, so the capris should pass muster!

I agree with the previous poster, they meant spandex like the ones that they use for exercise and physical activity. Spandex is used in many clothes for comfort and fit due to its elastic properties.

They should pass the code, nobody is going to be rummaging through her tags/labels

As long as they are not too tight they should be ok.
