Do you take your lures out of the original box or save it?

I'm about 50/50 on it....I've seen lots of guys saving all of their boxes, and some who save none. I want to know what you are and why.

I take the lure out of the package and put it in my tackle box. I toss the package. However, if you are collecting them you should keep the package. But the lures made today aren't going to be worth collecting like the old ones. I'm a sport fisherman. I have 3 tackle boxes on my boat full of lures. There isn't any room for packages.

Thats actually a really good question. Keep it in the box because if you throw it in a tackle box with other lures there is no protection for the lures paint and it gets scratched or damaged. The cardboard of its original packaging will keep it in like new shape!

I buy lures to USE them and since the box doesn't catch fish, it gets tossed. Now a $25 Lucky Craft or one of those $50 Cali wooden swim baits, I can see buying one and settin it aside. Besides, I seriously doubt a plastic Bomber crankbait or a Bill Lewis rat-l-trap will be worth squat in 50 years..box or not. Not only that, but I barely have enough room for all my rods, reels, soft plastics bags, spinners, cranks, lines, etc. etc.. If i started keeping every box, my wife wouldn't keep me! LOL

50/50 save some of the boxes of lures that are easier to save, I have seen some old fishing lure boxes sell on e-bay.

well if your a big fisherman and already have a lot of lure i would save then but if your just starting out toss them. i tend to save the boxes for the big muskie lures. if they are old lure they you've had for a long time i suggest to find a box and put them in it

I put 'em in my tackle box in the appropriate tray for the type of lure. That way the lures are arranged by type and easy to access, without having to open that little box and then put it somewhere so it won't be damaged or crunched by my big feet.

For one that is a collector of lures (vintage or antique ones) I can see it, but personally they go in the tackle boxes, w/o de' original box. Less ta' mess with ;)...

I take mine out of the package, toss the package, and put the lure in one of my tackle boxes.

Out of the original packaging & right into my tackle box or on my line.

I keep some and i throw some away is just depends, like if it's an in-line spinner package, i throw it, but if it's a rapala DT 4 Box, I keep it, because the are better packages.
