What a wicked game to play, to make me feel this way

To pretend like you do, that you love and care

Sneaking in the night, your deeds are to dark for day

The way you treat those around is just not fair

I thought the world was on fire and no one could save me but you

But the fire that consumed me was not of this world that we live

It was the flame of hatred that burned in your eyes, which once were beautiful and blue

No longer is there a light in you, no longer love can you give

It’s strange what desire will make foolish people do

Oh fool that I am, and fool that I have been

I desired a little affection, a little compassion from you

And once I thought I had it, once I thought you to be my friend

Dark days are what you have left me, the color of my heart

What a wicked thing to say, you never felt this way

You felt, you cared but now you think you’re too smart

But what you are is cold and heartless I say

No, I don’t want to fall in love with anyone ever

For like a viper, love will bite and even kill

This viper, yes was once a friend forever

But I have now felt it’s fangs to know they are longer than the thrill

You want the approval of the world so you coldly leave your loved ones behind

But this world is only gonna break your heart

Then you may look back and someday find

The broken pieces of us who you tore apart

I never dreamed that I’d meet somebody like you

Who had such power to tear others down

You treaded upon me like I was morning dew

And laughed like a fiend in the wind when I fell to the ground

I have not used most of the words verbatim, and I have added some of my own:

This world can break your heart

And so take my advice

But I look into your eyes

And before my dream is through

The depths of azure skies

Make me fall in love with you.

So fickle is the world

That gives and takes away

It steals my very soul

And turns my heart to clay.

A wicked game to play

To let me dream of you.

My world has turned to fire

It burns me through and through

It's strange what deep desire

Makes foolish people do.
