Do strangers comment on your physical attributes?

I'm really tall and hardly a day goes that someone who is a complete stranger doesn't comment on my height. It doesn't really bother me at this point, but I'm curious why complete strangers feel they can cross that social barrier and say something about a physical attribute. Do you have this or a similar experience?

I don't know why strangers cross this social barrier. Not a day goes by, when someone also doesn't comment on my height, but because of the other extreme. I'm 25 and only 4"10'.

Yes, this probably happens to most people, whether it's because they are of unusual height or weight, or because they're highly attractive or because of pretty much anything. People's social barriers have depleted considerably and although it's rude and oftentimes obnoxious, they feel as though it's not enough to be LIVING the way one is, they have to continually point it out and comment. I hope you have a thick skin because it's probably not going to stop, sadly. Good luck! Be happy with your height! Many people would kill for it!

Yup, it happens all the time. People just aren't familiar with what's appropriate and what's not, boundaries is a tough issue to tackle. Society allows it and so do we when we don't tell those people to mind their business for fear of being thought of as nasty or bad tempered. Today I am very assertive and tell people just how I feel and they feel very apologetic and hopefully they don't do it again.

yep i'm really short, 5' nothing. i'm 23, but because of my (lack of) height, people often assume that i'm only 16 or so. I get asked for id all the time! but it's when people say stuff like "god, you're really short you know!" blah blah blah, that's just rude. but my sister's even shorter than me, and she's 27.

Oh, and guys often comment on my breasts, they're dd's. I like them. I usually don't mind unless they're being overtly sleazy about it.

Yes. People ask me my race all the time. I am not offended. I would rather they ask than assume I am Mexican. I AM NOT MEXICAN! Not that there is anything wrong with Mexicans.
