  • Chevy 350 exhaust manifold question?

My Chevy 350 has old exhaust manifolds that have a hole in the passenger side one for the old style draft tube I believe it was called. I do not use this as I have a pcv valve and a breather cap in my valve covers. I think the strong stench of exhaust fumes I get every time I drive is partly due to that opening.

Does anyone know if there is a type of plug for this or does it need to be welded?

  • 2005 chevy classic maintenance ?

I have an 2005 chevrolet classic. I noticed when the driver door is open, the dome light dont turn on.  The other doors turn them on. They also come on when I unlock with my key fob. The driver door side is the only issue. What part do I need to replace to fix this issue? I seen conflicting answers saying its the door switch which may be built into the latch, or the door jam. It is not the fuse as the other doors activate the dome light. The manual does not help.

  • 2017 Camaro: humming noise. Dealership giving the run around?

Have any Camaro owners (years 2016-2018) have any issues with the vehicle making a loud humming noise? It happens around 1.5/2 rpm's when I'm just allowing the car to roll, not accelerating or braking. The humming noise will start really low & progressively get louder and then the noise just stops. Sounds like its coming from the front passenger side.

I've complained the the dealership where I purchased the car from since 2017 when I got my 1st oil changeand they have given me the run around stating they can't reduplicate the noise & have only done a flush on the trans but that did not resolve. Anyone have any experience with dealerships like this & have any detailed expertise how to get the dealership to fix an issue they've obviously been giving me the run around on? Or any Camaro owners with the same issue, if so how did you get the dealership to fix? What was the outcome? Did you have to threaten legal action?

  • "Baby Diesel" or V8 engine?

So my wife and I are shopping for a new truck. I've never considered a diesel (because ill never tow anything over 5000-6000lbs) until we started checking out the new trucks. We've narrowed it down to either a Chevy Silverado 1500 or a Ram 1500. They both offer a 3.0 (i6 chevy, v6 ram) diesel engine as an upgrade. The tow rating is less than the largest V8 which is fine because frankly I wont utilize it anyway.

We plan on keeping this truck for a very (10+ years) long time. I've been researching diesels and to me it seems like although they have higher maintenance costs, they last significantly longer in terms of mileage plus better mpg for those long trips.

So... Diesel or V8? Main goal is gonna be longevity of ownership since we aren't towing more that 6000lbs at anytime. 5000 is closer to what we will be towing, and even then its only occasionally.

Thanks for the feedback and knowledge!
