What causes hemorrhagic pancreatitis in dogs?

I’m just wondering my dog died of this and she 14 a boxer dog... she was completely fine until a few months after her birthday we found blood in her stool but the antibiotics did not work. I’m worried she was poisoned or something

Update:

she did love her treats

My dog would only eat cat food she was a Jack Russell and we think that this caused her to get Pancreatitis, did this happen with your pet?

Years ago, my parents had a dog that was severely allergic to fleas. She would literally pull her fur out and become bald during the summer. Then in the winter, the fleas would die off and her coat could grow back in again. The medication the vet gave them was supposed to relieve the reactions to the flea bites but it had a bad side effect of making her extremely hungry all the time. As a result, she would eat anything and she soon started eating out of the trash cans. One day, she became severely ill and disappeared for a few days. She was found lying by a stream in a wooded area near our home. My parents took her to the vet and she was diagnosed with pancreatitis. The vet was able to save her but warned us to watch her because she would do this again if she was able to get to the trash cans. Then one day, my sister accidentally let her out and she got to the trash cans again. This time, she got severely ill and couldn't be saved. She was 11 years old.

    I'm sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry for your loss.  Pancreatitis is most commonly caused by too much fat in the diet.  Some dogs can handle extra fat; some dogs can't.  Vets see a big uptick in canine pancreatitis right after Thanksgiving and Christmas because owners who don't know it could cause a problem feed turkey skin to their dogs.  Chicken or other meat skins, and peanut butter can also trigger pancreatitis attacks.

    Maybe eating its own  feces.

    Or

Because they attract parasites and worms.

Incorrect and/or improper feeding is the #1 cause.  Yes, she's been poisoned by incorrect or improper food.  Who has been feeding her for the past 14 years?

Fatty diet over time or consuming a large amount of fatty foods at one meal, certain medications, poisoning, hypothyroidism, abdominal trauma, diabetes, cancer, obstruction of the pancreas's outflow duct, and obesity can all be contributing causes of hemorrhagic pancreatitis.

Most commonly it is linked to a fatty diet.

Etiology. According to one study, the usual causes of hemorrhage were 2: bleeding pancreatic pseudoaneurysm or peripancreatic pseudoaneurysm: ~60% diffuse bleeding with pancreatic necrosis: ~20% .......( So feeding the dog incorrectly)
