Are table tennis/ping pong and badminton popular in North Korea ?
I know both are huge and 2 of the biggest sports in People's Republic of China

If there is any money to be made from it or any international esteem points to be won you can be sure that they are training people 20 hours a day to be expert ping pong diplomats or badminton burglars but as far as recreation, forget it. People in North Korea exist to serve the state not the other way around.

It is. China and North Korea have close cultural exchange.
