Any job suggestions for a college kid with social anxiety?

Simple. I have severe social anxiety (getting help currently), have a job but panic almost every day interacting with so many people all at once, looking for a part time job that isn't so bad for the socially anxious. Thank you!

I would do voluntary work cos there is no pressure on you and you don't have work every day. Hopefully it would boost your confidence.

There are some lovely people in this world and I bet a lot of them have a family member with anxiety.

People ask a person with anxiety "what are you scared of?"

But the person asking does not have anxiety and I promise you it is hard to understand for people who are not medically trained or have a family member who suffers with it.

Information of treatment of social anxiety, more useful than job coaching.

I feel your pain. I used to work in sales (not for long) and it was incredibly stress inducing; worse than when I worked retail. I'd have such awful anxiety every day before going to work and during. I would suggest any job that doesn't have you dealing directly with people or at least very limited contact with customers. You could work in a kitchen, stock a grocery store on the night shift, any type of factory job - which is what I do. I work for the Post Office. The only people I deal with are co-workers and a supervisor. And my supervisor leaves me alone for the most part.

Customer service.   You aren't going to learn by avoiding.

You may want to train for a job where you work alone or at home.

    Consider:

    Mail man

    Medical transcription

    Medical billing coder

    Working at a call center

Find a therapist and learn how to get over your anxiety. You won't get far in life by hiding from people and there's not much of a future in forestry or aquarium maintenance.

I have the same problem. Its hard for us especially because everything in life is about communication and confidence. We need both to succeed in anything we do 🙄 I cant think of any jobs that would be suitable. Everything is social.

Just stay away from retail. It makes anxiety worse
