Do you think Republicans will stop punching themselves in the face by the end of 2021?

the impeachment debacle has blown up in their face, the Texas power outage has exposed many Republicans and shown what decades of deregulation and lower taxes gets you

Update:

Anonymous, what are you talking about, Texas has been firmly Republican for decades, the Republicans created the mess in Texas with the inadequate power grid that isn't connected to the US power grid because they didn't want to have to abide by regulations

Nope.  Texas deregulated their power generation industry, leaving it up to businessmen to make the tradeoffs: reliability in extreme conditions vs lower cost.  Obviously reliability lost, because wind turbines run all winter in Finland, Norway, and Sweden.  However, the biggest failure in Texas is their natural gas system.  https://www.dallasnews.com/news/weather/2021/02/17...

Actually impeachment debacle blew in face of Dems because Trump got acquitted by senate. That means he can run again -- to prevent him from running again is why impeachment was done.

As for TX outage - same can happen in blue state also if the storm is this strong. Nearly all states have overhead power lines, making them vulnerable to bad weather.

Most politicians never paid any attention to power grid regardless of which party was in power.

Sure TX was controlled by GOP always but blue states aren't that immune from a catastrophic power failure either because they too have overheard power lines.

It's only a matter of one strong storm that can cripple power supply anywhere. The power grid has been neglected for decades everywhere

Matt is just repeating debunked left wing lies. Texas has had its own power grid since 1935.

The Dems were the ones who got caught "with their pants down".  THEY created the mess.
