who built America  into what it is today?

It was built on the backs of the slaves including the White House. 

Americans over the centuries, along with those who would become Americans. Since slavery was a southern thing, it's pretty difficult to believe that the entire country was "built" on slave labor. The slaves worked and built the cotton and tobacco economy of the south.

Almost everybody.  The capitalist, the government, the workers, slaves, free men, farmers, builders, carpenters, miners, pretty much all US residents who are not children and even they had their part in "building" America.

"You didn't build that" is a true statement, we all did.

The list is too long to post here. People from every continent had a hand in it.  Some willingly, some by force.

Americans, supported by a government of the People, in their desire to become owners...

Ever notice that Canada, despite being just as rich (if not more) in natural resources as the USA never became a global leader....or even grew in population larger than California?  Ever wonder why?

Look at how the USA grew in the 19th Century.... the government said to the people "YOU go out and define your destinies" and the People did...settlers built homesteads, which became communities, which became towns, which needed merchants and smiths and shops and train stations...all of which needed workers and investors...

Canada was built on the Old World model where the State owned all resources... they said "WE will hold on to what WE own, you...our subjects... will each get the privilege to harvest OUR resources for US...."

When the State owns all the wealth, there is no incentive to grow or expand... when the People are allowed to determine their own worth, the nation as a whole grows in an almost unstoppable manner...

Donald Trump is to be thanked for the state America is in today.
