I've created a poem in my English studies, but I need help creating a gripping metaphor that suggests that I am imperfect like everyone else?

    And like a three legged dog, I am flawed but I still make my way in the world. 

    I wear my scars and imperfections like a dlllar store tennis bracelet.

    Broken mirrors bring seven years of bad luck to every reflection. That's kind of angsty, which many teachers fight.   Maybe... Many streams run into the same ocean to glitter under the sun.  Or... All castles are but sand to the ocean.
