I've created a poem in my English studies, but I need help creating a gripping metaphor that suggests that I am imperfect like everyone else?

And like a three legged dog, I am flawed but I still make my way in the world. 

I wear my scars and imperfections like a dlllar store tennis bracelet. 

A great American wordsman once penned,

She aches like a woman,

But she breaks just like a little girl.

Broken mirrors bring seven years of bad luck to every reflection. That's kind of angsty, which many teachers fight.   Maybe... Many streams run into the same ocean to glitter under the sun.  Or... All castles are but sand to the ocean.  

I am an uncut gem. My imperfections will be exposed by the gemcutter's blow.

The future is a lily in your hands.

You must keep a firm grip on it,

Lest your dreams crush it and let it die.

I am the same,no better.

"Creativity to me is like a flitting bird,

Which renders my perfection

More like a lopsided turd."
