Of course, last year most media sites shut down the comments sections following their reports to keep their contacts more enjoyable for their readers; a nice way of saying how unpleasant the comments had become.

It has happened in the past, sometimes without any reason given as to why. Now Yahoo follows. Of course, other parts of Yahoo have been shut down. So I wonder if it is simply a financial matter, a format matter, or...

The caliber of questions and answers by many users?

I tend to lean toward the latter in my opinion but I may be biased as I have been finding myself more and more disgruntled by the time it takes to find real questions in the property categories as well as redundant questions sometimes posted multiple times through the course of a week-and longer.

Thoughts? Anyone locate a report about it or more information about why Yahoo Answers is shutting down? Doesn't seem especially newswothy.

What with gas at $3.00 a gallon & my electric & gas bills hitting $700 a month I could use another source of income.

Keep hearing people say that there are paid shills here. I'd apply-heck, people make money spamming folks to buy useless and overpriced crap all day long, getting paid to discuss climate change and science is way better than that.

Anybody know where to apply and what it pays?
