is the first social security check retro active to when I applied ? ?

if I apply for social security in december 1st and my first check is january 13 does it cover december and january or just january

    It's not retro. You have to be nuts asking important questions like that in this forum. Seriously, when SS denies you money because of what you did late, are you going to reference what someone on YA told you to SS?
