Does breaking a bone have any effect of getting the flu?

My friend was on her way to get the flu shot.  She was hit by a car and could have been seriously injured.  Luckily, she only broke her leg.  She cant walk to a pharmacy to get the flu shot.  She is terrified of getting the flu.

Not at all.  Surely she can take a cab or you can take her, presume she is on crutches.

Must be a wimp.  Even for a broken leg, you can bet a walking cast.  If you can't, you really only need one crutch anyway.  What's the big deal about getting influenza?  Vast millions do every year with no great problem.

Not sure about that. However, last time I broke a bone I caught distemper.

Breaking a bone has nothing to do with getting the flu, I've broken many bones and never contracted the flu.why didn't she get the flu shot while her leg was being set? Hospitals give flu shots too.
