Presidential candidate John Delaney said Medicare for all would bankrupt all US Hospitals?
If hospitals all had 100% Medicare reimbursement, they would all go bankrupt.

It's true. I work in a pharmacy, and we have seen our re-imbursments from government insurance go down over the last 10 years. It has reduced profitability. There are some small mom and pop pharmacies that had to close down as a result of the medicare part d for seniors when it was put into place. The whole system will contract when there is less money being put into it. In many cases, the payments by the government for a particular claim does not cover the cost of the drug - the wholesale price that the pharmacy must pay to put it on their shelf. It's not that I'm against the medicare part d, I just think that the government should pay enough to cover the cost of the drug so pharmacies can stay in business. From what I understand, Walgreens owns a drug wholesaler, so they cut out the middleman, and that's why they have been able to survive.

Delaney is more moderate than Biden, and is actually the only candidate last night that showed any common sense.

If healthcare and drugs did not rely on huge and in many cases extortionate profiteering, then it would be affordable.
