Do Spanish people understand all other accents and dialects?

I'm not Spanish but I'm thinking of learning Spanish, which will definitely be Castilian.. I made some research and found out that not all countries speak the same dialect and kind hard to understand, like for an example.. Argentinian!! How am I supposed to understand it??

This makes me think Spanish isn't very useful as I thought , especially because I'll be living in Europe, so I don't think it's very useful as in USA bec of the latins there.. am I wrong?? Any help??

It's the same as English speakers - there's a huge range of English accents, but generally everyone who speaks English, whatever their accent, will understand.
