    It would seem very unlikely that they were NOT European. Just look at a map of Europe and find Spain.

    Where the heck do you think Spain is? Their royal family is European and so are most of the people who live in Spain other than those with recent immigrant ancestors. It's not like a lot of places Latin America. The Spanish are not Mestizos, half-white, half-native American. We don't have native Americans in Europe.

    Since Spain is in Europe and they were born in and live in Europe, they are European.
