Do full throttle pulls clear out a Catalytic Converter (please refer to details)?
since everyone on this website is stupid and offers no details, here goes. vehicle in question is a 2015 mazda 6 2.5L. 70k KM on it runs and drives perfectly fine. recently made the switch to 5w30 oil and the engine loved it. anyways, my dad is a careful driver and never accelerates aggressively. I got the chance to take it out last night and did a couple full throttle pulls. it smelled very strongly like cats after the first pull. I did two more and the smell was still there, albeit much less strong. is it possible that I am clearing out the cats if the vehicle is never driven like this?

Your not clearing the cat, your burning it.
I assume you mean you took the exhaust off from the cat to make it loud?
Your probably just smelling exhaust, but it's not gonna smell like exhaust from the back of the car, it's gonna smell rich and strong under the car, especially with your window rolled down. This is poisenous it allows you to breathe in carbon monoxide.
The cat converts that into a usable stable gas and exits the system it also muffles the sounds (thats why its super loud if you remove it)
Now remember if your full throttling a car that is driven like a grandma everyday, and you messed with the exhaust, you can burn your valves up very quickly, and i don't think he would be happy. Now if it's a mustang (mustang gt 2014 example) it wouldn't hurt it much there tuned for it, but much louder, if your driving a old car with a lot of miles you will blow it out. Don't drive dads old car like a race car, it won't last long.
Oh and if you do it to much, he will notice, cause your engine is going to adjust to your full throttling, and it's going to kick or buck, or run roughly. just be careful.

Catalytic converters do not need cleaned out unless there is some other problem. Obviously you are just looking for an excuse to abuse your father's vehicle.

Your lack of mechanical knowledge is pitiful. Catalytic converters operate efficiently at full working temperature. They never need 'cleaning out' as you seem to think. You have already stated that the car runs perfectly fine. So how did you expect to exceed perfection? Methinks you are a dreamer.

If anything, you're adding unnecessary wear to the cat - it's trying to deal with the unburnt fuel you're shoving down the pipe.
There is no "clearing out the cats". Give it back to your dad before you break it.
