No, he didn't improve the economy. He inherited an economy that was in recession. All recessions end. The honest comparison is after the recession and now. There was NO significant recovery after the recession when there should have been a sharp recovery like most US post-recession economies. In fact, his onslaught of regulatory red tape he was behind threw a wet blanket on the economy, making it perpetually sluggish all this time.

Now, as for a future recession, you might be half-right, but not for the reasons you think. Recessions happen in cycles, '81, '91, 2000, 2008, even a few more going back to '68, all on the 8-10 year cycle. We are due for another one. The fact that they occur isn't anyones fault. How serious they are, is. The 1991 and 2000 recessions practically only existed on paper because of the strong economies that proceeded them. 2008 was bad because of weak economy and disastrous mortgage meltdown.

The question will be, how quickly can Trump shore up this weak economy before then next one comes along? He is also a poor communicator. Will he be able to educate the public as so not to be the scape goat for it? He can effect the duration of the recession as well as how well the economy bounces back from it.

the problem for most low information liberals is endlessly repeating a lie doesn't make it less false. the Pelosi reid regime had control of ALL financial matters from the razor thin mandate of 06 till the shellacking of 10. as such, despite liberal whine to the contrary, there was no "inherited" recession. it was incompetence, plain and simple. Obama made promises he couldn't possibly deliver and tried mindless deficit spending to cover it. 6 trillion in year one alone with absolutely no benefit to show for it. I thank god daily for term limits as this madman and his followers are finally gone and we can finally clean up the mess.

Democrats created the economy in 2008. Try to educate yourself on the events leading up to the crash. DEMOCRATS changed banking laws forcing banks to loan money to people too poor to repay them. The bank failures dominoed the car industries, etc. causing the recession.
