Do Griffens lay eggs?
Or do they give live birth? The back half is 'lion' so I would suspect no eggs. But I've never seen anything written on it in books before. Seems to be one thing NOT covered when talking about mythological creatures.

"St. Hildegard of Bingen explains how griffin mothers lay eggs. The female would fly around looking for a cave. The cave had to have a narrow entrance but with a lot of room inside. This entrance would protect the eggs from the elements. Once the mother found a decent nest, she would venture in and lay three eggs and guard them with her life."-Mith-wiki-ology
So yes, griffins do lay eggs.

The griffin, griffon, or gryphon is a legendary creature with the body, tail, and back legs of a lion; the head and wings of an eagle; and an eagle's talons as its front feet, so it would be impossible to say.
