No, not all Albertson's will become Haggens. When Safeway & Albertson's merged they were required to sell of some stores. So Haggens and a few other companies bought up some of these stores. In total Haggens bought up only a total of 83 stores in CA, with many of them in Southern California.

It also does not affect only Albertsons, there will be some Von's and Pavillions affected.

One of my local Von's is in the process of converting, but it hasn't officially yet so I don't have any personal experience with the store yet but am interested in giving It a try.

One Albertson's in my city is converting to a Haggen (this weekend?) and one is remaining an Albertson's.

I can't find a specific list, so you are going to have to cross reference the list of Haggen's opening, against the current Albertsons locations.

I haven't been to a Haggens yet. But I have not heard it's a traditional grocery store (Vons, Albertson's Ralph's, Stater Bros). The OC Register describes it "if Wholefoods and Vons had a baby, it would be Haggen".

Not every Albertsons is being converted into a Haggens. Just a huge majority of them are. The one in my hometown got converted into a Haggens and I agree with the people that hate it. It's WAY TOO OVERPRICED!

The Alberstons where I live (Camarillo) is supposed to turn into a Haggens soon, but once it does, I will start going to Smart & Final and Neighborhood Wal-Mart.
