Why is car rental prices so high right now?
Around this time last year I booked a car at lax airport for rental in July. The booking was really cheap a suv for around 430. Now I’m looking for this year and the prices is really high around 1300.

probably because the companies lost alot of business-money during covid19 so they're trying to make those dollars back

Renting form an airport location is always higher.
Demand for rental cars is up. But over all prices are still down across the US
Last year in July, few people were flying or goin on vacation or traveling for business. Perhaps you got a rock bottom price then. Although key cities are seeing a upswing in rental prices.
Taking a taxi from the airport to an office location further out could save you money overall.
Recheck costs. Look at other well known car rental companies.
